Scott O’Reilly began his legal career as an assistant prosecutor in the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office. He became head prosecutor and supervisor for all child abuse and sexual assault cases in 2013. During his tenure in Clermont County, he was known for his aggressive handling of child abuse and sexual assault cases, creating an environment where victims felt justice was served.
Scott is Of Counsel at Engel & Martin, LLC. His practice focuses on providing services for victims of crime, including assisting in protection order matters. Scott also provides advice to Ohio Law enforcement officers and others facing serious and high-profile criminal matters.
Continuing his commitment to law enforcement, Scott taught at the University of Cincinnati Police Academy from 2008-2014.
His experiences with law enforcement, victims, and their families led to the creation of Little Fork Family Advocacy Center. Little Fork is a collaboration of government, law enforcement, medical, mental health, and other advocacy groups. Under one roof, they address family violence and seek justice in a holistic approach to improve outcomes for children and families affected by violence. O’Reilly was recognized by the Ohio Victim Witness Association for his exemplary work as a prosecutor when he was awarded the William F. Schenk Victim Justice Award of Distinction in 2017. Additionally, he was recognized by the Clermont County Law Enforcement Community in 2015 for his service to the community and victims of crime. He also received the 2017 Unsung Hero Award from Cancer Family Care. Scott lives in Hyde Park with his three children, and if Gabby gets her way, a goldfish.
