Joshua Engel Speaks at Higher Learning Commission
Joshua Engel will be presenting at the Higher Learning Commission Conference in Chicago on April 3, 2017.
Engel will be speaking on Title IX issues. Engel’s focus will be on best practices that colleges and universities can follow based on recent court decisions involving the due process rights of students.
Engel has brought a number of Title IX complaints against schools throughout the nation. “At the present,” he said, “our goal is to make sure that the due process rights of all students are protected. This means that schools need to provide students, who are presumed to be innocent, with the adequate opportunity to effectively confront their accusers.”
Engel recently obtained a preliminary injunction against the University of Cincinnati in a case where the school denied the student any opportunity to cross-examine the alleged victim.
